Education
Greater Action offers quality education opportunities for both Refugee children and Women.
We strive to ensure that all refugee children aged 5 to 18 years old can access quality education. We partner with two local refugee learning centers in Bandar Baru Ampang, offering quality education, a strong foundation, and IGCSE preparation to promote lifelong learning.
5 Reasons to Sponsor a Refugee Child's Education
Education is a basic human right, enshrined in the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 1951 Refugee Convention.
Education protects refugee children and youth from forced recruitment into armed groups, child labor, sexual exploitation, and child marriage.
Education also strengthens community resilience.
Education empowers by giving refugees the knowledge and skills to live productive, fulfilling, and independent lives.
Education enlightens refugees, enabling them to learn about themselves and the world around them while striving to rebuild their lives and communities.
Education offers a stable and safe environment for displaced children. It helps people to rebuild their communities and pursue productive, meaningful lives.
Greater Action Academy
English Class
Greater Action Academy works with young adult refugee women. We have put together a four-tier conversational English course specifically designed for the community's needs and tailored to be delivered online. Since the academy's inception, over 200 students have benefitted from our course. We have 15 volunteer teachers who teach online. We have students from different refugee communities like Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, etc.
Learning Bahasa
We also offer programs for adult refugee women to learn Bahasa so they can integrate in their new home and acquire the necessary skills to pave their way for a sustainable livelihood.
